Mission
The Northern Kentucky Council of Partners promotes communication among public and private school systems, post-secondary institutions, the business community, and government agencies about educational issues. The Council serves as a catalyst for collaboration, change, and progress toward regional educational goals.
The major goals of the Council of Partners are:
- Help bring about curriculum alignment and "seamless" transition from preschool through postsecondary education.
- Encourage higher expectations and achievement and increased chances of success for all students.
- Work collaboratively with education, business, and community constituencies to seek solutions to regional educational issues.
To accomplish these goals, the Council's activities and initiatives include:
- Conducting research to determine barriers to participation in postsecondary education for adults and high school students.
- Assisting high schools and adult education centers to utilize national standards in mathematics and English language arts to prepare all students for success after high school.
- Developing resource materials for K-12 students, parents, school board and community members that provide information about requirements for success in the workforce or postsecondary education.
- Working to reduce the number of students needing to take remedial work when they begin postsecondary education.
- Assisting our educational partners with developing and promoting a wide variety of educational and career pathway programs for students.
- Promoting and recognizing excellence in education and collaboration through Northern Kentucky Education Week celebration.
