Mission

The Northern Kentucky Council of Partners promotes communication among public and private school systems, post-secondary institutions, the business community, and government agencies about educational issues. The Council serves as a catalyst for collaboration, change, and progress toward regional educational goals.

The major goals of the Council of Partners are:

  1. Help bring about curriculum alignment and "seamless" transition from preschool through postsecondary education.
  2. Encourage higher expectations and achievement and increased chances of success for all students.
  3. Work collaboratively with education, business, and community constituencies to seek solutions to regional educational issues.

To accomplish these goals, the Council's activities and initiatives include:

  • Conducting research to determine barriers to participation in postsecondary education for adults and high school students.
  • Assisting high schools and adult education centers to utilize national standards in mathematics and English language arts to prepare all students for success after high school.
  • Developing resource materials for K-12 students, parents, school board and community members that provide information about requirements for success in the workforce or postsecondary education.
  • Working to reduce the number of students needing to take remedial work when they begin postsecondary education.
  • Assisting our educational partners with developing and promoting a wide variety of educational and career pathway programs for students.
  • Promoting and recognizing excellence in education and collaboration through Northern Kentucky Education Week celebration.
